Message from the Representative Director

Machida Hygienic Control Laboratory is a neutral organization that acts as an impartial third party in maintaining and raising food safety and security standards. Taking pride in our many years of hygiene management know-how, cutting edge technology and stringent levels of accuracy, we aim to be of service to manufacturers, producers and consumers as a Conformity Assessment Body officially registered with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan.

Japan is at present capable of producing less than 40% of its own food, with the remainder being imported from overseas with the cooperation of several countries. Yet, imported products and goods failing to meet Japanese standards or to conform to hygiene laws have become increasingly problematic in recent years. In light of these issues, we work to reduce risk and costs associated with food, and in so doing are privileged to have the support of the public in importing the safest possible food products. We are always ready to listen to any questions or difficulties members of the public may have regarding food hygiene.
